INEC Should Prone Down The Number Of Political Parties – Zenith Labour Party Chairman, Anyanwu

The Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, Dan Anyanwu has suggested that the INEC should prone the number of political parties from the current 24 parties to a more manageable size

The chairman, whose party, ZLP, was among the 24 parties that scaled the recently de-registered political parties by the electoral empire, said that such down-sizing would allow for effective management of the electoral process.

Dan Anyanwu further revealed how some of the de-listed parties became conduit pipes through which some politicians use to negotiate with the bigger parties for their own selfish interest

Only recently the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, de-registered 74 political for failing to meet some of the required standards to function as political parties in Nigeria and other constitutional requirements, including winning a seat in a ward in any local government of the federation, winning at least 25 percent in two third of the federation, among other factors.
